Baker, one of central Denver‘s most historical neighborhoods, is bounded by West 6th Avenue to the north, Broadway Street to the east, West Mississippi Avenue to the south, and the South Platte River to the west. Baker is widely considered to be one of the oldest neighborhoods in Denver with its roots going back to the 1870s. Since most of Baker Homes were completely developed by 1900, its 19th century heritage can be felt throughout the neighborhood.

The Baker homes market offers something for everyone, including traditional Queen Annes and Victorians, newly-renovated homes, and high-end condos found in new developments like Watermark.  Most Baker homes are over 100 years old, but have been extensively renovated.

The Baker homes market encompasses a variety of homes, ranging in price from condominiums priced in the $100s to single-family homes priced around the half-million mark.

What to do in Baker

The neighborhood around these Baker homes is a stone’s throw away from South Broadway’s trendy shops and restaurants, known as “SoBo.” Sobo features many chic art galleries, a vibrant nightlife, and it is home to the Mayan, a well-known movie theater. The Baker homes neighborhood is close to Antique Row, 18 blocks of antique dealers, restaurants and galleries.  The Baker neighborhood is also located only a few minutes away from Cherry Creek Shopping District, which is home to a plethora of shopping and dining opportunities.

For recreational enthusiasts, there are several neighborhood parks in Baker, including Phil Milstein Park and Dailey Park, or Baker is only a short distance from Washington Park.
